Nimbus Wins Gold for Best Enterprise Hardware from Tech Awards Circle

S-Class Enterprise Flash Storage Systems Chosen Two Years in a Row as First Among Top IT Products for 2011

San Francisco, CA, October 17, 2011 – Nimbus Data Systems Inc., developer of Sustainable Storage systems and software, today announced that its 2nd Generation S-Class enterprise flash storage systems were selected first by the Tech Awards Circle, taking Gold in the Best Enterprise Hardware category. This is the second year in a row the Nimbus S-Class has been honored with this award. Winners were selected by an independent circle of publication reviewers and journalists from nominations based on a broad range of achievements from product and technology innovations to executive leadership and engineering pioneers.

“Despite overwhelmingly strong competition, Nimbus Data exhibited true industry excellence to be recognized among the top of the Tech Awards Circle,” said Kevin Anderson, awards program coordinator. “Our judges were pleased at the level of submissions from all the vendors entering this year’s competition, so to be named a Gold winner of this prestigious award is a testament to the quality and innovation unrivaled in the high tech community. We wish them continued success and look forward to them defending their title during the next awards period.”

Tech Awards Circle celebrates the products, services, vendors and individuals making a difference in the industry today. The winners represent a broad range of achievements, from hardware to software to services in consumer/SOHO, SMB, midrange, and enterprise markets. Gold, silver and bronze awards were given out in each category.

“We are delighted to have earned this top award two years running for our pioneering S-Class line and Sustainable Storage vision,” stated Thomas Isakovich, CEO of Nimbus. “This game-changing technology delivers performance and power efficiency well beyond traditional disk arrays, enabling greener, more reliable, and more responsive datacenters.”

The winning product, the S-Class, features redundant NAND flash blades and Nimbus’ comprehensive HALO storage operating system. As a next-generation alternative to traditional disk-based arrays, the S-Class offers 90% lower energy costs, 24x greater IO performance, and on-demand scalability for IO intensive applications like virtualization, databases, and HPC. The Nimbus S-Class offers industry-standard InfiniBand, Fibre Channel, 10 GbE and GbE connectivity, unified iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS support, and a proven enterprise software suite featuring inline dedupe, replication, snapshots, thin provisioning, and encryption.

About Tech Awards Circle

In its third year, Tech Awards Circle was established to truly honor the ‘best of the best’ in technology. Tech Awards Circle is not affiliated with an analyst firm or a media company, both of which are directly supported by tech vendors through consulting relationships or advertising sales, so it is uniquely unbiased and immune to conflicts of interest. Entries are judged by an independent circle of journalists, including product reviewers, each with at least a decade of experience covering technology from consumer electronics to enterprise-class computing.
